Read feedback and previous testimonials
For customers, this is the most important part of the process and why using xpertfind.com can be so helpful. In fact, this section should be the first thing you look at. What have previous customers said about this tradesman? Is it all good, or good and bad or just average? What additional comments have previous customers made? Remember, positive feedback on xpertfind.com is every bit as good as a personal word-of-mouth recommendation made by a friend, relation or neighbour.
View skills and experience
Go to each tradesman's profile and look at the range of skills they can offer, the experience they have, and how long they've been in business.
Read up on their qualifications
If you know that your job will require a tradesman with certain qualifications, make sure you look at their profiles to check. In addition, are they members of any trade organisations or bodies which show that they always work to high standards. If they're a plumber or heating engineer for instance, are they Gas Safe registered? Or if you are looking for a carpenter are they a member of the Institute of Carpenters?
Assess their working style
You need to know that you can work with your chosen tradesman. It's worth asking them some questions such as, do they work on more than one job at once? How do they deal with any disagreements with customers, changes to a job or unexpected problems which crop up? When speaking to the tradesman on the phone and/or meeting with him, think about whether you would be comfortable using this tradesman or not.
Look at price
Remember, it's not always best to go for the lowest price. Look at the tradesman's particular skills, whether they've done a job just like yours before, how far away they are, and of course, any recent feedback.
